Matt Smith Leaving Doctor Who?

There may be some big changes for Matt Smith in the near future.  Smith was recently interviewed by the popular music channel, VH1, where he has eluded  that he may be leaving Doctor Who once season 7 wraps up, next year. He claims that he would like to move to Los Angeles, along with fellow friend, Andrew Garlfield.  Matt Smith had this to say: “I’ve got another year of Doctor Who, but then I’m certainly going to come and give it a shot – come and hang out in LA”.  This would certainly make this the biggest journey since his travels in the T.A.R.D.I.S.!  So, what does this mean for our beloved 11th Doctor?  Nobody knows as of yet, since nothing has been officially confirmed, but Matt Smith had recently graced our televisions, post-Doctor Who, to attend the 2011 Scream Awards (which aired on the Spike network), where he had accepted an award for Best Science Fiction Actor and revealed the aforementioned tidbit of his possible departure to Vh1′s Kate Spencer.  The interview can be found here: http://www.thefablife.com/, and the accompanying video, found at the link below.

TARDIS| RIVER SONG/THE DOCTOR FANART | BUZZFEED.COM

Welcome to the Doctor Who “Totally Awesome, Ridiculously Doctor-like Internet Stuff” or TARDIS. This is a daily feature here on Doctor Who Cast. We scour the internet for the sweetest of the sweet that lovers of the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who have created.

If you like what we’ve done here we hope you keep on coming back for more Delectable Doctor Goodies. We also hope you will give our podcast “Doctor Whocast” a chance! It is the only Podcast that travels in time, as well as, handles organic matter from Daleks.

Today’s “Totally Awesome, Ridiculously Doctor-like Internet Stuff” is a Doctor Who fanart created by (who else?) a fan, who had submitted this drawing onto buzzfeed.  This site has a page-full of Doctor Who related fanart, which are all awesome in their own way, so I urge you all to check it out!  But the following piece of art, however, stood out to me the most.  Depicted below is a beautiful, yet, dismal, scene of River Song killing The Doctor in front of his TARDIS.

This pic is a gorgeous display of one of the many ways The Doctor’s death could have played out, had River decided to take a more savage approach to murdering him.  It comes off as morose and, simultaneously, romantic.  The work of this particular fanart looks like something reminiscent of a Tarot card, between the shades of the colors, the placement of the images, and The Victorianesque tones and details.  I admire the fact that the artist included the Gallifreyan symbols on the bottom, bordering River’s name; I thought that was a nice touch!  Overall, I find it to be an impressive work of art.  You can also find this, among other works, here: http://www.buzzfeed.com/doctorwho/the-very-best-of-doctor-who-fan-art

Today’s “Totally Awesome, Ridiculously Doctor-like Internet Stuff” is a special TARDIS I bring to you, today, because it is a creation crafted by a personal friend of mine, Marcey Papandrea, a.k.a. SuperMarcey!  As a fellow fan of Doctor Who, Marcey took it upon herself to gather up the various colors of yarn and to get creative by replicating the famous scarf worn by Tom Baker’s Fourth Doctor.  She was kind enough to allow me to use her photo on our site (she is shown below wearing the scarf).   As you can see, the scarf is quite lengthy, 11 feet long, and multiple colors are incorporated, as well.  This took Marcey, with some help from her mum, 22 days to complete and was indeed a labor of love for her, and also a testament to how talented and awesome she truly is – she has her mum to thank, as the crafty apple doesn’t fall far from the tree! ;-)   Her scarf looks like it would be perfect for cosplaying, and I can easily see it being a hit at Comic-Com, or even, Gallifrey One!  For more info on how super and awesome Marcey is, or, if you all love movies and/or anything geektacular, you can check out her website and podcast at: http://supermarcey.com/

Today’s “Totally Awesome, Ridiculously Doctor-like Internet Stuff” is something I had stumbled upon while perusing Doctor Who photos on Photobucket.  There was an array of awesome DW pics, but this one, in particular, stuck out for me.  This Doctor Who Companions picture I’ve provided below is a cute, chibi-styled portrayal of Doctor Who’s female companions, ranging from Susan Foreman (The first Doctor’s granddaughter), and ending with Rose Tyler.  Each girl is shown crying out The Doctor’s name in distress, or in hopes of capturing his attention… the last one is no exception. ;-)   This picture comes to us courtesy of  lavoisin13′s Photobucket account.

Welcome to the Doctor Who “Totally Awesome, Ridiculously Doctor-like Internet Stuff” or TARDIS. This is a daily feature here on Doctor Who Cast. We scour the internet for the cream of the crop that lovers of the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who have created.

It is the only Podcast that travels in time, as well as, save the world at the very last second… and makes it to the shop, in time, to purchase that cool Fez.

Today’s “Totally Awesome, Ridiculously Doctor-like Internet Stuff” is a “Very Demotivational” mashup photo of Doctor Who and Star Wars, which is brought to us by the folks at “Memebase”, a sister site to “icanhascheezburger”.  Shown below, this picture portrays, non-other-than, our resident Doctor Who baddies: The Daleks.  The Force is certainly with The Daleks, as they are seen wielding Light-sabers, each in the sabers’ respective colors.  Looking at this makes me curious to see a mighty dual of Sabers versus Sonic Screwdrivers, and the winner takes Big Ben and The Death Star as a bonus!  (That could be a good piece of fanfiction, perhaps?)  As far as the creative value goes, I thought the Photoshopped sabers, along with the accompanying caption, were simply geektastic!  Please take a gander (you can click the image to enlarge), and let this contribute to your daily chuckle.

I think the included caption speaks for itself.

They specialize in custom-made costumes, geek/goth apparel, and corsets, mainly. The following picture displays their recent achievement: A TARDIS Corset! I can’t express, enough, how gorgeous this is, and how much I want it! This prized Who-piece is a top contender for my Halloween (or make that, Wholloween) costume. This corset, paired with the right skirt, would make for the perfect Idris costume. Consider it the life of the TARDIS in a stunning piece of fabric! Please, take a gander and decide for yourselves, and also check out their website for more details. www.mayfairemoon.com I would also like to send a shout-out to my friend, Randy, for finding this website for me. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have stumbled across this beauty.

Today’s “Totally Awesome, Ridiculously Doctor-like Internet Stuff” is an adorable rendition of The Doctor, feline style.  This cool kitty is portraying Matt Smith’s incarnation, as you can tell, by the bow-tie and tweed jacket.  And, being the cat lover that I am, I absolutely fell in love with this picture!  I, also, find this drawing considerably ironic given the fact that The Doctor isn’t fond of cats. This picture was drawn by, none other than, Teefury.com’s art director, himself, Jimiyo.  Check out his site for more of his awesomely geeky creations: http://jimiyo.tumblr.com/

TARDIS – Turkish Doctor Who Spoof – Beedeer

Welcome to the Doctor Who “Totally Awesome, Ridiculously Doctor-like Internet Stuff” or TARDIS. This is a daily feature here on Doctor Who Cast. We scour the internet for the sweetest of the sweet that lovers of the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who have created.

Today’s “Totally Awesome, Ridiculously Doctor-like Internet Stuff” is a Turkish Doctor Who Spoof I found on Beedeer, which is leaning more towards the ridiculous side, yet it still manages to be awesome because of how silly it is.  It is a wacky take on Doctor Who, Turkish style, where no one in this video clearly takes themselves seriously.  First of all, he refers to himself as Doctor Hooey. Second, his movements look like clumsy dance moves.  And, lastly, the retro backdrop and music serve as the cherry on top.  There really is no perfect way to describe this Turkish Doctor Who Spoof, and I don’t want to say anymore, because I think it speaks for itself.  It left me in stitches for minutes on end!  As always, it can be found in the wonderful world of Youtube (created by ), but I originally found this gem on Geekosystem.  You can find it on the link provided, or you can view it here:  http://www.geekosystem.com/turkish-doctor-who/

Today’s “Totally Awesome, Ridiculously Doctor-like Internet Stuff” is a hilarious video, featuring two of my favorite enemy rivals: the Cybermen and the Daleks.  It is a fan-made video, using a clip from the season two episode “Army of Ghosts.”   The video shows us a funny scenario of what happens when a Cyberman works at an insurance call center, while a Dalek attempts to call it and get through to a person, but to no avail.  There’s a short advertisement preceding the video, but it’s worth the wait to watch what unfolds.  This is brought to you from Ashens.com, which is found on www.youtube.com.
