Today’s “Totally Awsome, Ridiculously Doctor-like Internet Stuff” is a 16 bit SNES Doctor Who Theme song. It comes to us courtesy of Doctor Octoroc, the amazing composer who brought us the retro composition of “Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog.”
When asked about his composition Doctor Octoroc had this to say:
“I arranged the track in FL Studio using SNES soundfonts from Chrono Trigger, A Link to the Past, Final Fantasy IV, and F-Zero. If you’re wondering how I got that wizzing sound in the beginning, it was a combination of ‘Lavos’ sound effects from Chrono Trigger.”
To be specific this is a take on the Doctor Who Theme for 2010 incarnation starring Matt Smith and Karen Gillan.
This has geek nirvana written all over it. So, sit back, relax and enjoy this SNES Doctor Who Theme.
